Högvads kanot

In Älvsered, just ten kilometers north of Ullared, you can paddle along the cozy Högvadsån. At Högvads Kanot you can rent a canoe or kayak. Fishing is free!

The trip starts in Älvsered at the bridge about 75 meters west of Lantmännen in Älvsered and ends at the southern end of Hackarpsjön. It takes about 3–4 hours to paddle back and forth at a calm pace without stops. Of course, you can stop wherever you like and turn around to paddle back again.

The water level may be low along parts of the route, so feel free to bring boots or similar footwear in case you need to get out of the canoe and lift it a little. After about 20 minutes of paddling, you will reach the bathing area at Horsasjön, where there is a nice swimming pier, barbecue area, toilet, beach volleyball court, and a large grassy area.
