Description

Fegen is a scenic lake with varied habitats, including shallow coves, narrow inlets, deep areas and open water. The lake is a Natura 2000 site and a nature reserve with excellent water quality, a rich variety of birdlife and a total of 17 fish species, including the unique spring-spawning vendace.

Fishing regulations

  • Fishing is only permitted using hand gear.
  • A maximum of two hand gear sets or five fishing rods per angler.
  • Children under 15 may fish free of charge when accompanied by an adult with a valid fishing licence.
  • The use of live bait is prohibited.

Nature Reserve Rules

  • From 1 April to 31 July, landing on several islands and in protected areas (marked on the map) is prohibited.
  • From 1 April to 31 July, a speed limit of 5 knots applies.
  • Lighting fires and camping are prohibited outside designated areas

**Fegens Nature Reserve **

In addition to general legislation, Fegen is covered by extended protection:

  • From April 1 to July 31, disembarkation is prohibited on many islands and sites. These are marked with yellow signs and in some cases buoys in the water.
  • From April 1 to July 31, the speed on the lake is limited to 5 knots.
  • Fires and camping are prohibited, except in specially designated areas.
